Why ESN joined the AFE-INNOVNET Network?

Submitted by AFE INNOVNET on Fri, 08/29/2014 - 09:59.

The European Social Network (ESN) is the independent network for local public social services in Europe. ESN brings together people who design, manage and deliver social services in regions and municipalities, funding and regulatory agencies, and research & development bodies. ESN supports the development of effective social policy and social care practice through the exchange of knowledge and experience. Care and assistance for older people is a significant issue for the local management of social services and has long been a priority for ESN work. Within AFE-INNOVNET, we further want to promote the mutual learning and policy development process of local authorities to set up inclusive, age-friendly communities.

How ESN will contribute and benefit from the project?

ESN will contribute to collect notable practices in the area of social and health services targeted to older people through our large network of local and regional authorities active in the social field. We will furthermore distribute the outcomes of the project amongst our members in order to support more public authorities to evaluate their initiatives in age-friendly environments from a socio-economic perspective.
